Two people were hospitalized Wednesday morning after a Bangor house fire.
The fire broke out at the home at Cedar and Second streets about 6:35 a.m., according to Bangor Assistant Fire Chief Andrew Emery. That’s not far from the Bangor Fire Department’s Central Station on Main Street.
Two people were taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation that’s not considered life-threatening, Emery told the Bangor Daily News.
Emery said that firefighters will be at the scene “for quite a while.”
Firefighters from Brewer, Holden and Orono, as well as the Maine Air National Guard, are assisting Bangor crews with taming the flames, while Glenburn and Hermon firefighters are helping cover the Queen City in case any other fires break out.
The state fire marshal’s office will be investigating.
