Police say they have identified the vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a 73-year-old Cambridge man last week, but are not releasing further details while the investigation continues.
The Dover-Foxcroft Police Department announced the development Saturday evening.
Barry Lial’s body was found on the side of North Street at approximately 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Police initially had limited information about the circumstances of his death, but after working with the Maine Medical Examiner’s Office and the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit North, determined he was struck by a vehicle as he crossed North Street.
Police then released a video of a light-colored sedan traveling north on North Street between Summer Street and Winter Street around the time of the crash, asking the public for help identifying it.
