
A motorcyclist was killed in a Wednesday morning crash in Auburn.
The motorcyclist was riding a 2025 Kawasaki motorcycle south on Washington Street about 6:39 a.m. when a southbound 2022 Volvo SUV changed lanes and the motorcyclist was unable to stop before rear-ending it, according to the Auburn Police Department.
The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike, while the SUV went off the road into a stand of trees.
The motorcyclist died at the scene. The SUV’s driver wasn’t injured.
Police aren’t publicly identifying those involved in the crash, pending family notifications.
Speed is believed to be a factor, but the crash remains under investigation.
