Good morning. Temperatures today will be the coolest we’ve seen for several days. But don’t get too excited, because the mercury is set to rise again Wednesday and Thursday.
Inside the Democratic jockeying to replace Graham Platner

At this writing, Graham Platner remains the Democratic nominee to face Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins in November. But if he stays in the race, Platner will do so without the backing of his party and many people who have stuck by him through a long list of scandals.
The final straw came Monday when Politico published an account from a former girlfriend who said that in 2021 Platner showed up at her house, uninvited and drunk, and raped her.
Platner called the allegation “categorically false.” But the blowback was so fast and fierce that leading Maine Democrats and their allies immediately scrambled to position themselves as his replacement.
