More than 50 people from multiple law enforcement and rescue agencies continued searching over the weekend for Stefanie Damron, a 14-year-old girl from New Sweden who has been missing since Sept. 24, 2024.
The renewed search began Friday with 57 personnel from the FBI, Maine State Police, Maine Warden Service and volunteers from search and rescue organizations.
On Saturday night, Maine State Police said in a Facebook post that searchers were covering as much ground as possible, looking for any sign of Damron.
The new effort was not prompted by a break in the case but rather by improved search conditions, according to Shannon Moss, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Damron is described as 5 feet tall, weighing 130 pounds, with green eyes and shoulder-length brown hair. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a long-sleeve blue shirt and black Harley-Davidson hiking boots.
The FBI is offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to Damron’s safe return or to the arrest and prosecution of anyone involved in her disappearance.
