A woman was shot and airlifted to a hospital Friday night after reportedly being shot while her son was trying to pick up his children from his ex-wife’s family on Jobie Road in Avon.
According to the Maine State Police, a man called 911 to report the incident and drove from the scene to 420 Avon Road, where he met police and rescue workers.
All parties are cooperating with the investigation, and there is no ongoing threat to the public, said Maine State Police spokesperson Aaron Turcotte.
The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit is assisting the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.
