
Three people were arrested on Saturday after Penobscot County sheriffs discovered meth, fentanyl and cocaine base in their vehicle.
Two of the people had been violating conditional release orders, while all three were charged with aggravated trafficking of Schedule W drugs, unlawful possession of scheduled W drugs.
According to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, the drugs were found after the driver of the vehicle was subjected to a traffic stop. The driver, Nicholas Mitchell, a 36-year-old of Bangor was found to be operating the vehicle in violation of 12 counts of conditional release orders.
After probable cause was determined, the vehicle was searched and officers found more than 120 grams of methamphetamine, around 15 grams of fentanyl and approximately 6 grams of crack cocaine.
Mitchell was charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking of scheduled W drugs, unlawful possession of scheduled W drugs, unsworn falsification, refusing to submit to arrest/detention, and 12 counts of violation of conditional release, according to the sheriff’s office.
Wilbur Babb, 63, of Alton, was charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking of scheduled W drugs, unlawful possession of scheduled W drugs, and violation of conditional release.
Jennifer Worotnik, 47, of Bangor, was charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking of scheduled W drugs and unlawful possession of scheduled W drugs.
During the arrests, one person attempted to flee the scene after they had been handcuffed. They tripped and fell, and were taken back into police custody.
An investigation is ongoing.
