The Maine medical examiner’s office has identified the victim in Wednesday morning’s fatal house fire in Benton.
Paul Verville, 62, died in the blaze, according to Shannon Moss, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety. She said the fire remains under investigation.
A dog was also found dead inside the house.
The fire in the Pleasant Drive home was reported shortly after 2 a.m. and the house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. Crews from five towns helped battle the fire.
