A Maine man will spend more than 30 years behind bars for killing a man at a YMCA in Portland.
Robert Lancaster pleaded guilty Wednesday to murder in the death of 60-year-old David Hannauer.
Authorities responded to the YMCA at 70 Forest Ave. just before 1 a.m. on Jan. 12, 2024, for a report of an assault.
Police said that Hannauer was found unconscious and suffering from serious injuries. He was taken to Maine Medical Center, where he died a day later.
After pleading guilty to murder, a judge sentenced Lancaster to 35 years in prison.
