A Maine politician sent Canadians an unprompted offer to join the U.S. Sen. Joe Martin, R-Rumford, said that for “millions of people currently frustrated by central authority, moral decay, and bureaucratic suffocation [the] reward is liberty.”
Bangor’s new ice arena and rec center is in limbo after the city struck down the $68 million proposal. The facility was designed with two ice sheets, a three-court gym, a suspended track, child care areas and two outdoor turf fields.
Acadia National Park set an all-time record for monthly visits in July. The peak comes as fewer international visitors are arriving in Maine and cruise ship passengers in Bar Harbor have dropped off.
