A Littleton man died after a car crash in Littleton on Saturday, and two children were hurt, according to WAGM.
The crash happened on Route 1 when a 2022 Toyota Camry driven by Jesse Sturtevant, 27, was traveling south and came to rest in a pond.
Aroostook County Sheriff Peter Johnson said several good Samaritans jumped into the pond to pull Sturtevant, a 7-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy from the vehicle.
Sturtevant was pronounced dead at the scene. The children were taken by Southern Aroostook Ambulance to Houlton Regional Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, the station reported.
Littleton Fire assisted at the scene, and the sheriff’s office said the crash remains under investigation.
