A motorcyclist was trapped under an SUV after a Thursday afternoon collision in Auburn.
Norman Lizotte, 62, of Mechanic Falls was riding a 2013 Harley-Davidson on Minot Avenue, near Blackie’s Farm Fresh Produce, about 4:45 p.m., according to the Auburn Police Department.
As he approached Blackie’s, Lizotte collided with a blue 2021 Honda CR-V driven by Sandra Wallingford, 74, of Auburn as she made a left-hand turn out of the parking lot, Auburn police said.
Lizotte hit the driver’s side door of the Honda. He became trapped under the CR-V, which came to rest against a curb and utility pole.
Lizotte was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where he was treated for life-threatening injuries. Wallingford was treated for minor injuries and released at the scene.
Police said that Wallingford didn’t see Lizotte coming.
The crash remains under investigation.
